DU Sweeps NTC Regional Championships!
The University of Denver Law School’s National Trial Team made school history when both of its competing squads swept their respective divisions at the 2012 National Trial Championship Regional Qualifiers on February 2, 3, 4, 2012. Twenty teams, representing seven states, competed in the qualifiers.
Both the squad of Chris Wilcox and Ashley Opfer, and the squad of Kyler Burgi, Katelyn Konecny, and Jesse McLain, along with their coaches, David Schott and Garrik Storgaard, will represent DU and the region at the National Trial Championships in Austin, Texas, on March 21-25. This is an unprecedented third year in a row that DU’s National Trial Team has advanced to the National Championships. However, this is the first time that both squads from DU advanced to the National Championships.
Wilcox and Opfer earned a perfect record throughout the entire tournament by not losing a single judging ballot (out of a possible 19 ballots). Chris Wilcox also won the Outstanding Attorney Award.
